June 28th
Gosh, people June already.... Heatwave after heatwave whilst my life has returned to being gloriously uneventful.
Compared to the hardships and drama other people have to go through.
Seems my only worry is if some secret agent of the cold water conspiracy might have regained access to the boiler room and destabilized the setting of the (apparently) highly sensitive equipment. (Ah right..... welcome James....!!!??)
007 on TV repeatedly...I have no idea how many weekends in a row I have watched No Time to Die...!!!???
Still as always after" a while " in London I feel more like it is a matter of No Space to Live.
Rental researches and everytime the same depressing result after hours of checking out adverts.
No I am not going to spend over half of my salary on a room and a bathroom......paying somebodies morgage (or inheritance tax) yet not keeping anything for myself!!!
As a matter of fact I keep thinking that for living/renting some of the more reasonably prized rooms (just rooms, single most of the time) somebody would have to pay me for trying.
Yeah London Life.....guess I am approaching the 3 month threshhold after which things around here really start to get to me.
So remembering Italy constantly now I realise I never got around to the verdict.
Really such a wonderful time.
Mostly amazed by how good looking the people were.
Covering the scale from decently dressed via a basic sense of style to exquisite elegance.
Find it so hard to be back amongst all those creople outside running around in their pyjamas. Like if they dressed at all, to go beyond the door to their hole(y) space allowance, the trousers simply never seem to come past knee-hight.... belt or not ....coming up or down both ways literally, like kids who never really learned to button them up properly.
No polititians, only watched the news once and did not understand a single word.
Pizza only once as well ...when my dad had one in Florence on our last night eating out....and I have to say it looked really rather delicious.
And actually I did try pasta after all, but more in regard to the mushroom stuffing than the actual pasta dough.
Quite alright just needs lots of my special sauces and a big bowl of salad to juice it up and I found it actually not bad.
What surprised me most though, was that people are actually still smoking....publically.
Really enjoyed my cigarette for once, and not just felt like an outcast for lighting up.
So many ashtrays everywhere ....even on the train stations platforms, could not believe it.
No really had the best of times and whish things and people were a little more relaxed in those regards over here.
So what I miss most is the countryside, the time and space (of course), the walks, the smoking in peace, people I like to look at, the wine, the olive oil and the fresh basil.
Tried to find some over here but it simply won't quite compare.
Guess I'll have to go again....can't wait...but most certainly will be back.
