The Over Times November 2024

Finally back. Was busy working and finishing this one.

Realising how I do miss so many things with the passing time.

More and more turning into an alien who finds the world around her unrecognisable.

So full of unnecessary overload that is meant to make life easier but actually just complicates it more and more.

People not only losing physical abilities but also mental flexibilities.

I know I keep repeating myself but it is just scary sometimes how willing they are to give themselves over to something or someone who does it all for them…or at least makes them believe just that.

What did I read the other day? ... something like feeling liberal and democratic is a privilege of a few remaining “free brains” who are not under the influence of whatever and have so far not been chipped or bought by the richest and most reckless/ridiculous….?

Wow… What can one possibly say to that…..

When I found all my life that living, being, thinking, liberal and democratic was my natural free state of being…. Yeah times are changing….definitely.

So yeah looks not only a body but also a brain is not exactly what it used to be no more. And not just the olympic but also the democratic spirit is far from being found.

Like so many other things that must have gotten lost among the way and swallowed up by the biggest mouths and newest and noisiest inventions.

The quiet moments, the space, nobody constantly squeaking to a screen, no constant ping about just another danger to life or instant threat scenario…..

Somehow I remember most of those occasions and undertakings were considered adventurous in the worst case, an experience or also a lesson learned in the best (or the other way round)…. and definitely did not require protective gear or any further health and safety clearance or an environmental impact assessment prior to enjoying them.

Remember the sound of :

Lighting “a real cigarette”,

Opening a bottle of wine with "a real cork" (Best sound of the week! Remember?)

Putting on “a real record”

Writing on real paper with a real scratchy pen

Starting  up a real car… the sound of the key in the ignition… a real engine....

Generally real and good music….god it is every time such an extended search to come up with something that makes me want to listen to it…

Real conversations with people who have actually something to say….

Mostly I do miss some general and quiet appreciation for the things we (most of us really!) have and not just the constant goingons about the things we do not....
