Real London B-day this year!!!
Met my brother in Kensington. He brought his wife and my little niece for a surprise B-day visit….
So needed to get out and up .... feel something like spring!
Not only did I throw open the pot of Tahini I had sitting on my kitchen shelf for months now. I also succeeded and enjoyed (a) real neck-crack and on top of all ran a line at Notting Hill Station. ( Yeah...no running on the platform, I know, so sorry!).
After refraining my self for ages from indulging in what used to be my weekly morning wake up kicks, besides running obstacle courses in the main station of D’dorf (ah yeah football fields…of years ago.).
Just could not resist....so happy!
Completely hooked again….
Gosh....really needed a bit of juice flowing through.
Feeling like I slowly force-fester and deterioate if not decay, cemented into just another one of those cheerful and lively neighbourhoods.
Could not do another winter's day trapped in what feels like an old peoples home inside and out there.
Every day I hit the High Street it reminds me more and more of the main station in Dusseldorf also.
Rubbish everywhere, puddles of puke and dogshit ( in bags, great effort, thanks) thrown all over. Gosh all this neglect and "dump it all mentality" does eventually rubb off.
Most people who are not passing through in those fat, fast and obcenely massive cars seem to struggle with something.... if not the rent or the grocery bill, then obviously with walking, talking or even dressing properly. Staring at screens in the best case and out of empty eyes in the worst.
And of course the / a cunt on every corner….
Not that I want to sound repetitive at all....!
Jesus people what happened to all the Brexit promises!?
As if I ever believed in it in the 1st place….probably to much the embodiment of “a real European” I am for that.
Still….
There was all this talk about the “BEST and the BRIGHTEST”?
Felt rather intrigued by the idea of having some of them around (not that they are usually the most boring also and would not leave me with a single line to write about )
Somewhere I heard on one of those Netflix shows that Einstein apparently said GENIUS IS INTELLIGENCE HAVING FUN!
Doesn't exactly look like anybody here is really having fun and nobody looks that intelligent to me either...
Well as for the geniuses….might it be they have all fled the country or at least this part of town and taken all the more interesting conversations with them….to more civilised areas (of London)….?
So right London….
Still the same old story and what has become of it. Did I call it my last love at some point? Probably....
Guess it is a bit like with every great marriage in a way.
The 7th year is the decisive one.
And as I have left all the other places and countries I lived in before after 5 already I am 2 years overdue.
Still I do not think there is any other city I would or could live in or even more, always want to come back to. Rather actually really miss once I left for too long (God knows why that is or could possibly be?!....)
Because all I feel like is that most of my other passions and (financial) resources are channelled into the effort to come up with the energy to make it to work and back and keep paying the rent.
No real change there to same as it ever was.
Nothing going on (and up,...ok, slight alteration after all) but the rent…. but thinking of what I could get elsewhere for what I am paying now ?….really….
Well..Creative space (inside my brain, my self ..... and on my desk !) for starters…
Not having everything and everybody worming itself through those damp walls....
A bathroom with a shower and a tub...
Constant hot water and not just the constant discussion about what that actually means...
Ok the ceiling has not come down yet.... so lets point out some positives.
Yeah London Life live….!
Then again and still as always....
Besides all those shades of grey (which I actually really love) there is all this and more.
Only takes a few days off, some extra money (if it is only mostly my brother's (thank you so much for all the treats!)) and some great company to enjoy it with!
And of course proper, painfree muscle function.
Kensington or somewhere around there (Actually really miss it) Good to have been back and around some of my favourite places.... not exactly the Russian embassy though, that just happened to be there too.
Natural History Museum (of course pissing down with rain!!) just like last year....
The extinct species!!!
The gold, the gods and gem stones!
Tate Modern!
Definitely got a real umbrella this year!!
And just like that .... clear blue sky the next day....
Spital Fields and Brick Lane
Birth Day Cake and Fish and Chips + my Horoscope....what can possibly go wrong now!!??...
I DO LOVE LONDON!!
